Welcome!
Welcome to the webpage for the Southeast Biofeedback and Clinical Neuroscience Association. Thank you for visiting our site and we hope you find it information rich and enlightening.
THE SOUTHEAST BIOFEEDBACK AND CLINICAL NEUROSCIENCE ASSOCIATION serves to represent biofeedback professionals in the Southeast United States and provides a resource for the general public to discover the amazing and far reaching health benefits offered through biofeedback, a resource for medical and allied health professionals who seek to provide referrals as well as a resource for professionalism, ethics and continued professional development and education for biofeedback professionals.
The Southeast Biofeedback and Clinical Neuroscience Association has emerged from its predecessor, the North Carolina Biofeedback Society in order to better serve the interests of our membership, our region and the public whom we serve. It is our intention to present a powerful and diverse offering of resources through our website, our annual conference as well as local and regional meetings, downloadable media and webinars.
This is the dawn of a new era in healthcare in the United States. Political forces seek to shape the face of medicine while at the same time the public is searching out and finding health-related information on the Internet easier than ever before. The Southeast Biofeedback and Clinical Neuroscience Association is seeking to harness the power of the digital age and social media to bring credible scientific information and news directly to practitioners and the public alike. Biofeedback, as a profession, has been providing drug-free, cost-effective, genuine healthcare to people suffering a wide variety of conditions for over 30 years. The research proving the effectiveness of biofeedback spans the 30+ year history of the profession. This website will serve as a resource to make it easier for both professionals and the public they serve to find research and news regarding the efficacy and broad application of biofeedback in the allied fields of medicine and mental health.
For decades biofeedback has established itself as a profession improving mental and physical health as both a standalone intervention and as an adjunct to other treatment methods such as medication, chiropractic, physical therapy, exercise therapy, nutritional intervention, hypnotherapy and counseling. Because biofeedback has demonstrated its usefulness in a wide variety of conditions, professionals who administer biofeedback can come from a wide range of professional backgrounds and offer different levels of specialization and expertise.
The National Institutes of Health, as well as other agencies, universities and professional organizations endorse biofeedback, and the profession has become a well accepted member in the field of Integrative and Complementary Medicine. Biofeedback effectively recruits healing through harnessing the self-regulation properties of the mind, brain and nervous system. Increasingly greater understanding of how the brain and nervous system function to control and regulate nearly all aspects of life, help to explain the vast number of health conditions which can be benefited by biofeedback training.
Please check back and revisit this site often as we will be adding new and updated information regularly.
Yours in vital and vibrant health,
